Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority celebrates UAE Women's Day

Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) has celebrated, on Monday, the Emirati Women's Day, which falls on August 28 of each year, at its headquarters located in MBZ City. The celebration was attended by the high-placed officials of the authority, including the Director General H.E. Rashid Mohamed Al Shariqi, executive directors and employees.

 

Highlighting the role Emirati women have played in the overall progress and success experienced by the UAE under the leadership of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, the celebration reflected the importance of participating in national events and initiatives, particularly the UAE Women's Day.

 

The celebration also came in recognition of the role of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, in empowering the Emirati women and elevating their status.


In his address, Al Shariqi said: "The Emirati women managed to achieve significant success in the development and the renaissance witnessed by the UAE. "Now, UAE is in the top among the global nations in the area of empowering women, thanks to the stand and policies of the UAE government under the leadership of the President, H.H. Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan" he continued. 

 

"H.H. Shaikh Khalifa has followed, in his wise vision, the approach of the founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, who was keen to support and empower the nation's women to take part in the way of progress. Under his leadership, UAE has initiated countless programs and projects that enabled the Emirati women to become partners alongside their male brothers in various areas, as they assumed the most senior political, executive and legislative positions and leadership positions related to strategy development and decision-making," H.E. Al Shariqi added.


" The Emirati woman lives in the best conditions in light of the wise leadership's keenness to pave the way to achieve her ambitions and goals, as well as providing all the necessary support to prepare the Emirati women in the best suitable manner. We are proud of the prestigious and honorable position enjoyed by the Emirati women both internally and externally. The Emirati women became an examples in all international forums of empowering women. They also consider a key and important partner in all areas of development witnessed by our beloved country," Al Shariqi stated.


He praised the role of H.H Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the mother of the UAE, in supporting women and encouraging them to participate in the renaissance witnessed by the nation. He attributed all the great achievements achieved by the Emirati women to the efforts and generous support of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak.

 

"The talk about the excellence achieved by the Emirati women starts from the great support and care of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak in empowering the women. She has contributed effectively to create a community's awareness treats women as partners in the development of the UAE," said ADFCA's Director General.

 

Al Shariqi expressed his pride about the presence of about 400 female staff members of the authority that over 96% of them are Emirati women, including 27 employers are holding higher academic degrees. "We -in ADFCA- appreciate the role played by the Emirati women in leadership positions and their ability to contribute to attain achievements meet the wise leadership's aspirations," he said.

 

"Today, ADFCA celebrates the achievements achieved by the UAE women in the authority. The full presence of the female employees working in leading positions is a source of pride and appreciation. This indicates the high status the high status attained by the Emirati woman under the endless support of the wise leadership. The Women's empowerment march in the UAE is a unique model for developing, promoting and investing in enabling human," Al Shariqi indicated.

He expressed he is proud of the mothers of the UAE martyrs, as they are honourable role models for Emirati daughters due to their sacrifice and loyalty to the nation. He extended his thanks and appreciations to the martyrs' mothers, adding they have shown the nation the finest example, and have taught it valuable lessons in love, dignity and sacrifice.

 

"The martyr's mother is the mother of all citizens of our dear nation. She is the source of pride, strength, determination. She also encourages us to follow the original values and principles instilled in us by the founding father of the UAE renaissance, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, Al Shariqi said.


In conclusion, Al Shariqi extend his deepest thanks, appreciation and gratitude to the mothers of the UAE sons in the armed forces. "They are crowns on our heads. Through them, we derived the finest lessons and values in loyalty to our wise leadership and the nation. Through their support, we confirm our determination to attain more achievements and gains for our motherland," he said.

 

"In this occasion, we do not forget to pay tribute to efforts of the Emirati women in all fields of work, as they are a major factor in the development and advancement of this beloved country. We also ask Allah Almighty to keep the Emirati women as a symbol of excellence, success, determination and giving in the light of the Union state, which believes in the importance of empowering women and supporting their aspirations," Al Shariqi concluded.


The celebration witnessed a panel discussion hosted by the pilot Rawda al Mansouri, as a role model for ambitious Emirati women.  During the session, she reviewed her scientific and professional journey. She also discussed the role of support given by the wise leadership to the daughters of the nation to promote their march and to their goals. Al Mansouri stressed the Emirati woman is able to occupy many influential positions alongside the man. The celebration witnessed the organisation of some activities for the staff members, in recognition of their great efforts in the authority.
