ADFCA donates AED 339 thousand to Faraj Fund

Abu Dhabi food Control Authority has handed over a financial aid that figures AED 339 thousand to the representative of Faraj Fund under the Ministry of Interior which is established to support inmates in the correctional and penal facilities in UAE and their families.

The official handing over of the cheque  was done in program convened in ADFCA headquarters in Mohammed Bin Zayed City to honor employees and other participants who played  remarkable roles in the grand success of Agricultural Environment Corner at the recently concluded Zayed Heritage Festival.

During the event, top officials at ADFCA including H.E. Khalifa Al Ali, Executive Director of Strategy & Performance Sector and H.E. Mubarak Al Al Mansoori, Executive Director of Agricultural Affairs Sector handed over the cheque to  Colonel Ahmed Saeed Al Badi, General Manager of Faraj Fund.

The amount was mainly collected  through a special program titled 'Tabaq Al Khair' (Charity Dish) in which female employees of ADFCA played key role during Zayed Heritage Festival.

While receiving the donation, Colonel Ahmed Saeed Al Badi praised the efforts ADFCA employees exerted in making the Zayed Heritage Festival a successful event as well as supporting Farj Fund in its initiatives to give scaffold to inmates in the correctional houses.

He briefed on the activities of the Fund and explained how it is able to translate the teachings of Holy Quran and the Prophet in to the life of needy people. He also recalled the great enthusiasm shown by the UAE leadership in supporting the Fund right from its inception to date.

In the honoring session, H.E. Mubarak Ali Al Mansoori, Executive Director of Agricultural Affairs Sector while delivering during his inaugural speech said the Agricultural Environment Corner in the Zayed Festival, conceptualized and curated by  ADFCA  was really a unique event that celebrated the agricultural tradition of UAE.

He said, during the event,  ADFCA team could present a perfect and comprehensive picture of its activities and services in the field of food safety, local agriculture and animal wealth to a wide spectrum of the society.

Brief presentations were shown in the program to get an insight to the various activities organized by ADFCA, Farmers Service Center and  Food Security Center such as 'Local Harvest Kitchen' organized to promote food made of local agricultural products, 'Tabaq Al Khair' and animal auctions.

In the eateries category, establishments such as Al Fanar Hotel & Cafe,  Zahrat Labnon Hotels, Abilla Hotels, Advanced Catering, Saudi Kitchen and  Shawarma Time were honored.

ADFCA employees, Abdullah Yunus, Abdulla Al Kathiri and Amjad Darweesh  were honored for winning first, second and third place respectively in the photo contest held in the sidelines of Zayed Festival.
