Under the umbrella of Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Security Week, a programme entitled: "Smart and Resilient Urban Agriculture: Global lessons and pathways to success for the GCC" will gather world renowned speakers and experts, discussing how Indoor Farming can be an integral part of the UAE's and the region's, Food Security Agenda.

The event Programme is delivered through a partnership between the organisers of Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Security Week. The Global Forum for Innovations in Agriculture, the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, and Agritecture Consulting, a US based consultancy.

Combining panel discussions, fireside chats and keynote presentations, the Programme will be moderated by Henry Gordon Smith, CEO Agritecture Consulting, who states: "We are extremely excited to come to Abu Dhabi and the UAE, a celebrated hub for innovation. With a sharp focus on Food Security, coupled with a drive towards innovative sustainable solutions for growing food, this programme will convene thought leaders who will push the agenda forward".

 Dr Mohammed Salman Al Hammadi, Communication and Community Service Division Director of Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority adds: "Abu Dhabi is welcoming key stakeholders in all aspects of Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security during the Weeklong programme of Events. Abu Dhabi and the UAE, through a best-in-class event programme and exhibition are working closely with global partner organisations and stakeholders that ensure, through collaboration, we are maximising on the significant opportunities that we can bring to market, shining a spotlight on Indoor Farming as a n integral part of the discussion."

Other esteemed organisations who will be joining the Programme in Abu Dhabi include Aerofarms (USA), Canopy, Madar Farms (UAE), Farmshelf  (USA) Certhon (The Netherlands), and Signify (The Netherlands), and they will also be joined by the UAE Ministry for Food Security

Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Security Week 2021 is the largest event for sustainable agriculture and food security in the MENA and Asia Pacific region. In addition to the variety of specialized events, such as conferences, exhibitions, and workshops, the program also includes two major exhibitions with a successful track record in Abu Dhabi: Global Forum for Agricultural Innovations (GFIA), which has attracted more than 50,000 participants, since its launch in 2014, during which more than 1,500 innovations in sustainable agriculture were exhibited, and VIV MEA, an exhibition which covers animal health and production, which focuses on developing livestock and producing dairy, fish, poultry and eggs. Other co-located events taking part during the Week include Cold Chain Expo, FOA Aquaculture Summit, Sustainable Agriculture Awards Ceremony, and ApiArab Expo. ​​
