A delegation of Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) has visited the reference laboratory of livestock feed and a number of agricultural projects of Jenaan Investment Company for producing fodder in Spain. The visit came as part of the strategic partnership between the two sides in the field of the sustainability of fodder supplies to the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The delegation inspected the mills and stores of feed as well as operations management center, in which Jenaan Company invested as a national company that contributes to enhance food safety.

The visit aimed at identifying all stages of production, processing and storage of fodder. It also aimed at ensuring the arrival of high quality varieties to Abu Dhabi. Stemming from ADFCA's belief in the importance of the animal wealth, the visit is also an implementation of a comprehensive plan to develop the agriculture sector and livestock in a sustainable way in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The delegation's visit enabled the officials of fodder distribution centers to identify all stages of the food chain, to ensure the supply of varieties of fodder with high nutritional quality for the animal. Ensuring such high quality will positively affect the animal's health and productivity through applying the best agricultural practices and using feed drying and packaging techniques. The visit will contribute to build the logistical capabilities of the delegation's members, which ensure controlling of the entire supply chain.

ADFCA provides a fodder support program for 19,000 livestock breeders in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in order to preserve and develop that wealth in the emirate. The Authority also encourages livestock breeders to raise production rates, preserve natural resources, contribute to ensure food security, and provide high-value fodder.
