The Policy and Regulation sector of Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) has organized a training session for inspectors on the risk-based inspection system for local markets in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The session was aimed at knowledge transfer, making sure all the inspectors are uniformly informed about the principles and procedures of inspection in line with the requirements of the system and the legislations and regulations for health and safety.

The session targeted the staff of the field operations division and consisted of lectures on the theory and application of the studies on field realities. The session enabled the attendees to get a better understanding of how to strategically allocate resources and proactively focus attention on those areas of the market where the degree of health and safety risks are more tangible.

The system is expected to fill in the gaps in execution and to enhance the overall efficacy of inspections, eventually leading to better confidence among the consumers about food safety.
