1- We assist farmers to deliver their business objectives whilst contributing to Abu Dhabi’s shift to sustainable farming, by ensuring the farmers a fair income
2- Every farmer will perceive that our activities will allow him to keep his farm, which is a part of his life and culture and is a source of personal pride
In light if the current conditions of the Agricultural sector, restructuring of the industry is deemed necessary to help achieve sustainability and create economic-feasible agricultural activities. ADAFSA will help in maintaining farms as a way to preserve the culture and heritage traditions of the UAE with a long term goal of assisting farmers to become more financially independent. ADAFSA will engage the farmers in the process improving their operations to meet the best practices of the industry, i.e: building a diversified portfolio of agricultural products. ADASFA will also assist farmers in and marketing and distributing their products to assist them in continuously operating their farms so as to guarantee a minimum level of income that is considered reasonable. ADAFSA will put a major focus on improving the quality of the products grown by the local farms.
Another significant aspect of this priority is the attempt to mutually match the interest of the government to reduce the current damaging environmental effects of locally produced Rhodes and the expectation by the farmers to receive guidance and directions to gradually make a swift transition so they can meet the government policy. The government therefore, will have to maintain a balanced approach in doing so to avoid any devastating effect on the farming sector, not the least of which being the social aspects of farming on the Emirate.
This priority was derived from the government outcome championed by ADAFSA:“Ecologically sustainable development of the agricultural industry” in terms of decreasing environmental impact of agriculture production" and "A secure food supply for the Emirate"
This priority will contribute to government outcome of "Preservation, conservation and promotion of local traditions, culture and the history of Abu Dhabi"; "Reduce income disparity across the regions" and "Enhanced competitiveness of the business environment with a dominant role for the private sector".
